3 ingredients for the ultimate get together
When it comes to relaxed entertaining, nothing beats a brunch gathering at home with friends. It’s a time to sit back, relax and enjoy each other’s company, all over great food and a glass of Campo Viejo.
Hosting a brunch party can be easy, effortless, and a whole lot of fun. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or hosting a get-together “just because,” here are some of our favourite ideas to inspire you to brunch colourfully.
Vivid tablescapes
As for brunch styling, we love beautiful blooms in a colourful tablescape. There are plenty of ways to include flowers into your decor, whether it’s a vibrant centrepiece that runs down the length of the table or in overhead baskets that beautifully fill the space. You can also get creative by adding colourful fruits or exotic succulents to your brunch tablescape decor. Even a few sliced citrus fruits add a pop of colour and fragrance to arrangements.
Another standout statement piece for your brunch gathering that’s both practical and beautiful is a floral and fruit ice bucket. Colourful, festive and fruity – keeping your Campo Viejo wine chilled has never looked better. Check out our tutorial here to make your own.
An eco-friendly touch you can add to your brunch table or buffet bar is to repurpose corks into name holders. All you have to do is cut a slit across the top of the cork and slide in your guest’s name.
Colourful cocktails
Since cocktails are one of the best parts of brunch, why not set up a bellini bar. Having chilled Cava Brut or Cava Brut Rosé, carafes of juice and bowls of sliced fruit allows guests to customise their own bellini creations. For added fun, use a bar cart to keep the party rolling.
For a little celebratory fun, shake up a sparkling cocktail with our pear and cinnamon bellini.
Water is also important for keeping everyone at the party hydrated, so setting up a water station infused with refreshing flavours such as lemon, orange or cucumber is a great way to make sure everyone feels refreshed.
A bountiful brunch menu
Brunch is a time to treat yourself and your guests. When it comes to food, the options are endless: You can serve breakfast dishes, lunch dishes, or a combination of the two. For a Spanish-style brunch party, create a menu that can feed a crowd.
Serve a mix of sweet and savoury dishes family style. A stack of fluffy pancakes or a large pan of bubbling shakshuka is perfect for sharing. Add a little extra sparkle by pairing these dishes with flutes of Campo Viejo Cava. Another one of one of our favorite’s that’s perfect for a brunch fete is a Spanish dessert that takes French toast to a whole new level – torrijas. Here’s the recipe.
Don’t forget to get creative with your brunch menu by creatively displaying your food items. For example, you can pile pastries into a tower or top yogurt parfaits with edible flowers.
Here’s to well spent weekends catching up and enjoying the simple things in life – friendship, food and great wine. Salud!
